In the third quarter of 2022, the top social networking apps on the iOS platform in Nigeria showcased diverse performance metrics. Here’s a closer look at the weekly trends in downloads, revenue, and active users for the leading apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 50.6K in early August. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, ranging from 1.5M to 1.54M throughout the quarter.

Facebook saw a decline in weekly downloads over the quarter, starting at around 42.7K at the end of June and dropping to approximately 18.9K by the last week of September. Weekly revenue peaked at about $427 in early August and then varied, ending the quarter at around $219. Active users showed steady growth, reaching approximately 2.45M by the end of September.

Messenger maintained a consistent download rate, with weekly downloads hovering between 22K and 25K. Active users exhibited a slight upward trend, increasing from approximately 1.65M at the end of June to about 1.72M by the end of September.

Telegram Messenger showed an increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $950 in early September. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 20K mark. Active users varied between approximately 530K and 565K throughout the quarter.

Pi Network experienced a significant rise in weekly downloads, peaking at about 13.4K in late August. Active user numbers were relatively stable, fluctuating around the 24K mark for most of the quarter.
